Axioms, the starting point within the domain of math (typically) on which to build theorems (mathspeak for conclusions).
In philosophy, these are called a priori: that which is prior (prior to any deduction, to any reason perhaps). Some philosophers call them "premises".
There are many important ones used to build the math you know now. Must stem from algebraic premises of (?). STUB
