Rings were an object invented as the First Age transitioned the Second Age. A ring of power was fashioned. Or rather, a ring, which became powerful because of its perfection and that it was the first of its kind. The claim that it grants invisibility, but that is not quite true. To it`s creator it granted power. To other it grated invisibility in order to protect the keepers of the ring until it could be delivered to your world. Invisibility was perhaps just the old god's (Crom) way of protecting it`s carriers. Its final destiny is still waiting to be revealed.

It is the claim of I, Cedric the Bard, that it is meant to unite all the realms of magic.
