Omega Verksted is possibly one of the oldest extant hackerspaces in the world, having thrived on the Gløshaugen Campus of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) since 1971. Although it lives in healthy symbiosis with the university, its students, alumni and staff, Omega Verksted is independent and open to anyone. We have more than 2500 registered members (Note that we run a lifetime membership model).

The activity at Omega Verksted has co-evolved with technological development, having started out in hobby electronics, telephone hacking and analog amplifiers. Today it encompasses all the activities generally associated with the hacking community, as well as quite a lot more. Although we generally use the terms "Student Workshop", "Electronics Workshop" or just "workshop", Omega Verksted fits snugly into the culture and community of what is now termed Hackerspaces, and welcome everything that comes with that.

Courses & Events[edit]

We organize various activities throughout the year, including courses in electronics and programming and a battle robot competition.
