notacon is a conference like no other. We explore the intersection of creativity, community and technology through presentations, discussions, competition and good old fashioned hacking.
Not quite sure what hacker cons are really about? Do you like building and creating stuff? Are you tired of infosec focused conferences? Do you want to have fun while actively learning about cool stuff and meeting awesome people? NOTACON is the conference for you! No degree in computer science, nor job in IT is required to have a great time at Notacon. In fact, we believe some of the best hacks occur in areas outside of technology altogether.
We take hacking back to its roots.
Join us for a weekend of presentations, individual expression, electronics, workshops, locksport, digital art, music, radio and just a healthy dose of information security for flavor. Saturday features PixelJam, one of North America’s only demoparties, where we premier creative creations created by our community! Cash and prizes are awarded to the winners (could be you!), by popular vote of party participants.
The Makers Alliance will be running an event long hacker space at the hotel featuring workshops on soldering and arduino programming.

10 years ago notacon redefined what a tech/hacker/digital media conference looked like. Starting with this year, we are going to do it all over again. Every aspect of the event will undergo positive change through community input and action. Some of our early ideas and events might come back in a new form. We may ditch things that many members of the community simply weren’t interested in. We want to know what you want to see at notacon! As such, we encourage you to submit any idea, suggestion, criticism or feedback to organizer@notacon.org. Tyger and I both read those emails, so make sure it stays busy!
