Hackerspace IFUSP is located in the main building of the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (thus its name), it was created in May 2018 thanks to the efforts of Prof. Dr. Alexandre Suaide and some tech enthusiast students. The space available is a large room at "underground" level by the main entrance to the building. The room hosting the hackerspace is owned by the Institute thus members have to be university associated to have access to the space.

Location[edit]

The institute is located in the Armando de Sales Oliveira University Town (CUASO) in the Butantã neighborhood in São Paulo city, the nearest station to the institute is the Butantã Metro Station (Via 4 - Yellow Line), from the station you can get to the institute by car, transit, riding or walking (although it a bit of a long walk). There are buses from the subway station to the institute (Lines 8012-10 and 8022-10) every now and then (these buses are free to university members). Transit is a convenient way to go, in front of the entrance to the institute there are two bus stops, one for each bus line (IAG - 8012-10 and IF - 8022-10).

Address: Rua do Matão, 1371 - Butantã - São Paulo, SP - Brazil

Access[edit]

Access to university campus is open to the public, however, to enter the building, university non-members must sign up at reception first, then access to the hackerspace is completely open and free. We are the first door in the hallway to the right of the entrance. Non-members can join us whenever the space is open, which usually happens when a member is present.
