"FamiLAB is a community that fosters learning and creativity through hands-on projects, collaboration, and the sharing of skills & tools to improve ourselves and enrich the world around us. "

Membership at Orlando's premier hackerspace is open to artists, hackers, makers and tinkerers who want to work in a collaborative, friendly environment.

Saturdays a DIY Biochemistry group meets up in our BioChem lab to experiment with microorganisms, DNA, and other molecular minutia. We have also recently acquired a -80C freezer and a triad of Scanning Electron Microscopes!

We also have a darkroom accessible to members and escorted guests who would like to experiment with photography.

We have a fantastic machine shop with CNC and manual machine tools, ranging from mini mills and lathes for new machinists all the way up to a full sized HAAS machining center, as well as surface grinders, metal brakes, and more.

A recently outfitted welding area is helping our membership learn the trade of fused metals. We have MIG, AC and DC TIG, and stick capabilities.

Nearby to the welders is a stained glass workbench, open to membership.

Next to the welding area, we have a fledgling (but fast growing) blacksmithing area too! Love some red-hot metal :)

We have a large leatherworking, sewing, and craft area, a sizable woodshop including a CNC router, professional tablesaw and more!

The Fab Lab contains 3d printers of all shapes and sizes, including RepRaps, a Stratasys, and soon a Zcorp powder printer. It also contains the Epilog 60W laser cutter!

Further down the line we have a four-color screenprinting press with plastisol radiant oven for baking shirts. There's also a collection of ~25 screen in various sizes and conditions.

We invite members of the public to join us at Open House the 1st Tuesday of each month. For more information see our Public Classes and Events page.
